The day was so beautiful on D & H’s wedding date, it was hard to keep people inside as they celebrated! It’s always hard to know what the weather will do on your special day (although I hear that if it rains it means good luck for the couple), but D & H lucked out with clear skies, lots of sun, and a comfortable temperature.
This was a traditional wedding, which I love to photograph. Capturing everyone smiling and dressed to the nines in traditional clothing is one of my favorite things to do. On their wedding day, the bride and groom wore traditional, embroidered clothing, the bride sporting designs on her hands and feet as well as thick, large gold bracelets completing her look.
After the formal ceremony, we headed out for some photos and then onto the reception. Traditional weddings such as these usually include preparing and making food (and sometimes even liquor and other drinks) right on site, and I couldn’t resist photographing some of the delicious food that would be a part of the reception celebration.
We took the opportunity to get some photos outside as women carried roses and men played music while the sun set on their perfect day behind them. People danced and everyone had smiles on their faces; sharing words of congratulations with the happily married couple.
Inside the reception hall, there was seating for every friend and family member in attendance; the tables and chairs dressed with white linens and chairs adorned with lovely big yellow bows. The stage up front was set up for the bride and groom, as well as the maid of honor and best man to enjoy their meals. They shared food, drink, laughs and so much more as they celebrated, surrounded by their friends and family that had come out to be a part of their special day. It was a day that was truly magical and I was happy to be a part of it.
